Art-Luis was formed by three individuals, new to the vocation of art, who passionately share an appreciation for the work of abstract expressionist artist Manuel Guerrero Mora. Like with classical music, we each realize what moves us, without having an understanding, say, of the mechanical knowledge required to produce a symphony. The chorale finale of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony is firmly ingrained in the hearts of Western civilization and has recently been re-arranged by Herbert von Karajan into the official anthem of the European Union. The Ode to Joy movement is based on Friedrich Schiller's An die Freude or To Joy, written in 1785, expressing his idealistic vision of the unity of the human race. One cannot but feel Beethoven's "kiss for the whole world" during the glorious finale of the Ninth Symphony. It is this feeling, through the powerful emotive force that passes from the creator to the beholder, that defines the raison d’être of all art.
Another interesting analogy is that of wine. Few enophiles understand the biological, chemical and environmental processes that combine, resulting in the production of a remarkable wine. Yet many enjoy the fruits of those processes nonetheless, never giving a second thought to the underlying alchemy. It should be noted that consumption of wine in the United States, continual promises of health benefits aside, began to increase commensurate with the softening of its image. Gone are the days when a feeling of despair overtakes a consumer nervously trying to select the appropriate wine with dinner, while the Sommelier hovers about, ready to expound on the proper pairings. Nowadays, red wine can be chilled, mixed with fruit, juice and ice - voilà, you have Sangría! We have progressed, in many regions of the world, from serving wine with a stiff upper lip to a smile, from rigid rules governing wine/food pairings to anything goes.

The "image" of art, like wine, must now be softened, and thus, made more approachable to the non-collector. A short biography of Manuel Guerrero Mora is available on this site, but it is enough to mention, for the purpose of this introduction, that the artist has been inspired by nature, in all her sadness and glory. These themes are universal, belonging to all peoples, and to life itself. We have, therefore, an overriding concern that the art of Manuel Guerrero Mora be both approachable and affordable. While the economics entailed in the production of larger originals may place their acquisition out of the reach of some, it is our goal to make derivative works and reproductions available to the many. These complimentary mediums will range from innovative postcards, large format prints and premier apparel, to the traditional utilization of serigraphs and/or lithographs. One such original work was recently chosen by his native Colombia, utilized for a shirt design, representing his country's annual Carnival festival.
